Ok I readed That.  This bug is a severe regression on 11.10, ...  that's
my personal view. The main ubuntu maintainers do have an other point off
view concerning audio in general in ubuntu.

In despit off some good improvements concerning audio since 10.10 The overall 
compatibility went seriousely down on ubuntu.
Many users are left with non or bad working audio.

This off course is not Your fault. Thank's for Your work on gnome-
alsamixer. Now that it is released in precise, users can always download
it with this link and the install with dpkg.
