Had this problem occur last night on shut-down. I've had this problem occur a couple of times in the last month. Using kernel 3.0.0-12-generic #20-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 7 14:56:25 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux (Xubuntu version). Similar output to comments #2 and #3 above. Hardware is Gigabyte G41MT-S2P motherboard with Intel E5700 dual core 64 bit processors and 8Gb RAM (onboard display adapter shares this memory). Integrated display adapter is Northbridge G41. I'm running BOINC in the background. At first I thought this might be a RAM fault, but memtest comes up with nothing.
