Thanks for two votes of confidence above,  but seriously I don't see
this code as anything more than a temporary workaround  until a properly
designed fix is found.   In my setup, it only worked after a manual USB
unplug/replug,  and I'm sure there must be a better way of simulating
this automatcally.   Basically I would have thought looking into the
differences in the way Ocelot handles an E220 compared to how Natty does
it would be the  best way forward,  since it all works fine in Natty.
