Public bug reported:

Happening sporadically, since upgrading to Oneiric I've experienced
system crashes to a black kernel panic screen. The mouse pointer is
frozen. SysRq+K, ctrl+alt+Fn, no key combinations work. I'm left
staring at the remnants of the log of whatever just happened. This
requires a hard power off and back on. Upon reboot, no log shows any
record that might indicate the culprit.

Tonight, it's happened 3 times in the space of an hour. This is
intolerable.
