Hi Jack, Thanks for pushing me to look at this again.
Yesterday, I went through the "open with other applications" a dozen times, but I am sure that the "remember..." check box was not there. it was this time! And with the "remember this application for XYZ files" check box pre-ticked! This pre-ticking was the start of this bug earlier this year; I thought that the plan was to remove the default tick, but I seem to remember a discussion that the developers removed the "remember..." facility completely... Although I am confused now as to why or what, I will look out for the tick in future! Regards, Garry.
