A solution to this would be to deliver a special "boinc" > binary with the boinc-manager package.
Hm. With X on about every machine, I could live with that change. A problem with any such setup is most certainly independent from the actual distribution. Is anyone on the Ubuntu side unhappy about trying a --with-xss? I am about to work on a package for 6.13.10, which could then just have it.
