The work around worked for me.

In my case the volume level always started at its original level after
installation, even after turning off and on again.

Compressed attachment directory .pulse with the problem.

My laptop: Toshiba Satellite Pro A200, lspci: 00:1b.0 Audio device:
Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03).
