I've tested the following kernels: linux-image-2.6.32-02063246+drm3320-generic_2.6.32-02063246+drm3320.201110201215_amd64.deb linux-image-2.6.33-02063305-generic_2.6.33-02063305_amd64.deb linux-image-2.6.34-020634-generic_2.6.34-020634_amd64.deb linux-image-2.6.35-020635rc1-generic_2.6.35-020635rc1_amd64.deb
All of them gives the message, I've reported. Also note, that only the last of these kernels gave monitor signal, the others does not (however I don't care, since I used ssh from another machine to log in). The official lucid kernel has no problem with driving the monitor. Also, I have an older kernel (from one of the previous upgrades), from package linux-image-2.6.28-11-server. It also says (grepping for 'barrier', lines 'EXT4-fs: barriers enabled' did not appear in newer kernels): [ 3.111259] EXT4-fs: barriers enabled [ 7.422085] EXT4-fs: barriers enabled [ 11.935403] JBD: barrier-based sync failed on cciss!c0d0p3:8 - disabling barriers [ 12.982447] JBD: barrier-based sync failed on cciss!c0d0p1:8 - disabling barriers Should I test more kernels, or can I add the tag 'kernel-bug-exists- upstream' now? Also note (I guess this is totally another problem, but just in case): [ 5.384456] ------------[ cut here ]------------ [ 5.384470] WARNING: at /build/buildd/linux-2.6.32/arch/x86/kernel/cpu/mtrr/generic.c:467 generic_get_mtrr+0x11e/0x140() [ 5.384474] Hardware name: ProLiant DL360 G5 [ 5.384476] mtrr: your BIOS has set up an incorrect mask, fixing it up.
