@Chauncellor, I'm not sure if this is the right bug for you, but I can't suggest a more appropriate one either. Certainly the reporter of this bug describes similar performance degradation to yours.
Video performance bugs are very messy. Unless there is an easy switch or workaround to try then most of the time you'll never be too sure that everyone is actually experiencing and discussing the same bug.
