You have been subscribed to a public bug: Hardware list: CPU Intel Celeron 300A, MB chipset Intel i440LX, 384 MiB RAM, graphic adaptor S3 Trio AGP, monitor Dell E551 (CRT, analogue D-Sub connection). Distribution: Lubuntu 10.04 i386, min. desktop CD.
I installed on an obsolete computer. After some initial options I lost the screen suddenly and the monitor diodes indicated an error - I reckon the installer switched display modes from text to graphical. I tried a more capable Sony 15" CRT monitor but it was damaged instantly. An LG E2350V-WN LCD monitor noted the display mode was 1024x768 px, 80 Hz vertical frequency, ie. the vertical frequency was too high for most of the old 15" CRT monitors and for the LG E2350V as well. As I was unable to continue, I relaunched the installation, this time with the LG E2350V connected (D-Sub) from the start, and everything was OK. I think if the installer cannot detect the monitor safely, it should use the smallest graphical resolution possible and the vertical frequency of 60 Hz, which any monitor should be able to handle somehow. Being a bit confused by the list of Lubuntu projects in Launchpad, I appologize in case I am misreporting. ** Affects: lubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- The installer sets an improper vertical display frequency https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/880501 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
