** Description changed:

- Ubuntu Oneiric Beta 1, fully updated. Sometimes at startup, after the
- GRUB2 menu, the system hangs at a blinking cursor with no hard drive
- activity. This does not happen 100% of the time, but it can take 5 or 6
- attempts to get Ubuntu to boot any further.
+ Since updating to the 3.0.0-12-generic kernel, my system as been unable
+ to boot. This has occurred in both an update to Oneiric beta, and now
+ the full fresh install, which I have installed 5 times to be sure.

- I have no idea which package this bug would be against or where to find
- crash reports (if there are any). Let me know if any more information is
- needed.
+ To fix it I have had to make the boot partition smaller than 127 (or is
+ it 137)GB, the limit that an old BIOS can read to boot from. This was
+ not an issue in the 3.0.0-11-generic kernel or earlier, and reverting
+ back to the old kernel allowed a successful boot from a partition >
+ 127GB.
+
+ To recap, booting from a partition that passes the 127GB mark on the
+ drive causes a boot failure in 3.0.0-12-generic, but not
+ 3.0.0-11-generic or earlier.
