As requested my .xsession-errors and the output of the icon-theme:

testaccount@ph-l029:~$ gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.interface icon-theme
'gnome'

To be able to work I made my old home-dir the home-dir of my new account
(which I created to see if a new account had all the icons).

I've not tried the workaround, since then the bug will probably be fixed
and I won't be able to check for any problems (my home directory is a
bit too big, so I can't just copy it either).
