Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-core
Recent versions (> 1.0.2-0ubuntu10.3) of xserver-xorg-core available on dapper-updates repository break card detection of mga200 PCI board, where older versions (<= 1.0.2-0ubuntu10.1) work fine. With the newer version, X -scanpci does not show the card any more but lspci always shows it. I suspect the recent PCI patch breaks the correct behaviour. The buggy behaviour has been observed on two identical machines with integrated mga board and the following pci devices : [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lspci 0000:00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 440BX/ZX/DX - 82443BX/ZX/DX Host bridge (rev 03) 0000:00:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corporation 440BX/ZX/DX - 82443BX/ZX/DX AGP bridge (rev 03) 0000:00:04.0 Multimedia audio controller: Cirrus Logic CS 4614/22/24 [CrystalClear SoundFusion Audio Accelerator] (rev 01) 0000:00:07.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 ISA (rev 02) 0000:00:07.1 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 IDE (rev 01) 0000:00:07.2 USB Controller: Intel Corporation 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 USB (rev 01) 0000:00:07.3 Bridge: Intel Corporation 82371AB/EB/MB PIIX4 ACPI (rev 02) 0000:00:0f.0 USB Controller: NEC Corporation USB (rev 43) 0000:00:0f.1 USB Controller: NEC Corporation USB (rev 43) 0000:00:0f.2 USB Controller: NEC Corporation USB 2.0 (rev 04) 0000:00:10.0 Ethernet controller: 3Com Corporation 3c900 10Mbps Combo [Boomerang] 0000:01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Matrox Graphics, Inc.
