Attached is a pulseaudio log. It covers the initial start of pulse. Pulse comes up with the correct output, SPDIF, but the volume is max (ie not restored to where I left it).
After pulse is running I touched the volume slider in sound control on the desktop. As soon as the volume slider is touched the SPDIF output is set back to where I had left it. Also, the position of the desktop volume slider is properly saved and restored. The problem is that this saved value is not getting restored back into the SPDIF channel when pulse (or ALSA) initially starts. ** Attachment added: "volume-too-high" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/874225/+attachment/2554564/+files/volume-too-high -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/874225 Title: [HPE-480t, Realtek ALC888, Black SPDIF Out, Rear] Playback problem To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/874225/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
