If the card wasn't such a workhorse, I'd say your width is greater than
your max texture size (could be 4096px). The GPU might (no idea -
difficult to find that data) actually support bigger textures, assuming
the drivers work with that card properly. As you probably know, Xinerama
is deprecated, and you should pick it up with nVidia on why can't you
use TwinView with that setup, as this card is supposed to drive 4
monitors. I don't think that's going to help with the issue at hand,
though.

The easy test - change the res on one of your screens so that total
width would be <= 4096. If compositing doesn't break things, means
indeed your max texture size probably is 4096x4096. Compositing managers
generally paint the _whole_ desktop as one texture, thus your total
desktop width of 4960 might exceed that.
