I've had the same problem. Simple removing banshee-official-plugins
solves it, there no need to reinstall banshee 0.12 (feisty), ie. the
following command should solve the issue

sudo dpkg -P banshee-official-plugins


banshee-official-plugins were at version 0.11.1-0ubuntu2  which should but 
doesn't conflict with banshee.
Maintainer field says: Sebastian Dröge <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

I guess many users upgrading from dapper/edgy to feisty have this
problem.
