I was filing a bug report for this when I saw this "duplicate." This issue still exists in the stable Oneiric release (17 Oct 2011). I'm attaching a screenshot that shows how I've removed bookmarks for Music, Pictures, Videos, etc but they are still showing up in the Nautilus Sidepane.
I hope this bug is addressed because all these default bookmarks take up the majority of space on the Sidepane. For users that don't use these default bookmarks, it would really be nice to be able to remove them so space can be created for bookmarks of the user's choosing. ** Attachment added: "Unable to remove default bookmarks (e.g., Music) from Sidepane" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/821544/+attachment/2553848/+files/Screenshot%20at%202011-10-17%2008%3A46%3A52.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/821544 Title: Places in the sidebar keep listing non existent folders To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/821544/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
