Affected by same issue on t43 - no sound after hibernate and rebooting does not fix the issue, but cold booting does. The depatched kernel resolves the issue here. Thank you very much for solving this - I'd done more or less *everything* I could think of, including resinstalling alsa. I'm glad I found this bug report - this was kicking my ass :)
