Ernest Bywater,

I have Logitech wireless mice that I can switch between 11.10 and 10.04
with no problems. My preferred one is model 305.

While shopping for a wireless keyboard and mouse combination, a wireless
desktop, I was told by a sales man that Logitech has included software,
or firmware, that locks their new equipment to the computer on which it
is installed first. This might be your problem if it is actually true.
Perhaps someone can confirm or refute this possibility.
