Public bug reported:
the nm-applet menu would show no network devices as found, and only
allow me to view connection info.
The .xsession-errors log was full off messages like:

So i changed the config in /etc/dbus-1/system.d/NetworkManager.conf and changed
the line
<deny send_destination="org.freedesktop.NetworkManager"/>
in the default context to allow. This is probably not the best way to
fix it, but nm-applet worked after restarting it. Could this be because
the deny rule overrides all the other rules using the same
send_destination?
