I can confirm this bug on my Thinkpad SL500 and Intel Wifi 5100. it works perfectly in 11.4 but not in the final stable 11.10. It displays wireless connections but refuses to connect to any of them. i've tried both secured and non secured networks with the same results. i'd be happy to provide more on this.
