I never heard about a sudden disappearing of the CUPS configuration files. Can you check whether there is enough disk space for them ("df -h /etc/cups/")? Do you have /var/log/cups/error_log and /var/log/syslog of the night where your printers.conf disappeared? Can you post these files? Is the PPD file in /etc/cups/ppd still present?
If you do not have the logs any more, re-create the printer and as soon as it disappears again attach the mentioned log files. ** Changed in: cups (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/870563 Title: All configured printers gone (printers.conf files disappeared ) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/870563/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
