Ubuntu 10.10 will be released next week with kernel 3.0. Opensuse and Fedora will both use kernel 3.1 and will be released next month. Because Linux 3.1 isn't even stable yet, it will not be part of Ubuntu 10.10. You can try to post your logs somewhere else, maybe someone else can help out with the screen brightness and bluetooth issues.
