Intel PIII 1GHz CPU,
512 MB RAM,
80 GB IDE Hard drive,
IBM Motherboard (Intel 815 chipset),
nVidia GeForce 2 GTS Video Card
3Com 3c905C Network Card
Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn, default install
The sound card does not function after installation. It appears in the lspci
results, but is not functional.
Result of aplay -l:
aplay: device_list:222: no soundcards found...
Result of alsamixer:
alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such device
This sound card is known to be functional in most Linux distributions,
and on my hardware setup I have succeeded in using it with Debian 4.0,
as well as previous versions of Ubuntu, such as 6.10.
In case it isn't clear, the sound does not work at all. And I do not
have any custom configurations - this is on a completely fresh
installation. Thank you for your help.
