Public bug reported:

I installed ubuntu 10.10 from CD and my wireless network worked. Hotkeys for
turning wireless on/off was not working but wireless LED indicated that WIFI
was on all the time.
Ubuntu asked me to upgrade to 11.04, and I did.
In 11.04 my wireless did not work, still an wlan0 interface was present and
"ath5k" driver loaded. Trying to activate wireless networking in the
networkmanager did not activate wifi.
I blacklisted "acer-wmi" in "/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf" and wifi
works again.
