Same for me, I can confirm that the brightness keys have no effect. If
started on battery then the screens stays dark on press of keys, and
does not change when plugged into mains later in the session. If started
on mains then it stays bright, even if keys are pressed or the mains is
disconnected.

The Desktop Notification is occurring, showing what the brightness level
'should' be, but the actual brightness never changes. I will add logs
shortly.
