Sorry for the misconception. I'm now able to boot from the the 2TB hdd if I use the mainboard in non UEFI mode (bios emulation). 11.04 server installer hangs on uefi mode. (since the firmware/bios update 0524)
I get a menu now (since update, before it stayed blank) when I run the installer in UEFI mode, but after that it won't boot. If I read the changelog correctly for the kernel this seems to be a fixed kernel issue on <3.0 kernels. The boot issue is still a work around because the installer won't boot in uefi (maybe usb installer issue). It won't boot UEFI after the installation either, because it detects the BIOS emulation during the install. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/779589 Title: Ubuntu server 11.04 amd64 does not detect uefi To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub-installer/+bug/779589/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
