Talk to Opera then. Their package probably needs to provide one of "gnome-www-browser" or "www-browser". "aptitude why firefox" can tell you why firefox is installed. It's still not a bug in APT though. APT does not guess which package is what, packages have dependencies and provides to describe their relations and identities. If they're missing in Opera, that's clearly not our problem.
