I'm quite baffled by this now. When I first reported this it reported that I was using 5.36.
Now, sudo /usr/sbin/smartctl -V reports: smartctl 5.40 2010-07-12 r3124 [x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu] (local build) yet I have not built a local version, nor done anything that I can remember other than doing updates via synaptic, which still reports 5.39.1+svn3124-2 as being installed. Though I think I did change the server I was downloading from at some point. I can't see anything in the repositories list that is unusual. Maybe I could just remove it completely and re-install it, though presumably 11.10 will have 5.40 anyway so there's probably not a lot of point pursuing this. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/783960 Title: incorrect version number To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/smartmontools/+bug/783960/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
