I wasn't sure if the earlier reports of the old_before_new usbcore property not working were due to the property not being set early enough in the boot process.
I thought I'd try adding the old_before_new to my intramdisk image. Successfully applied the property via file in /etc/modprobe.d, but didn't see any change in behaviour.
