Public bug reported:

That one isn't easy, couldn't figure out which package is responsible
for that issue.

Well, it's the following: I'm actually (and for the next few weeks)
sitting in a hotel which is providing internet via WIFI to which I'm
connected to. I successfully receive an IP adress, no setup in network
settings is needed at all.

That's how it should be like: As soon as I enter an adress in the web
browser's adress field, I'm being redirected to a login page. The adress
of that page is http://hotspot.hhi.local . Here I can enter the
credentials I've got at the reception desk.

And that's how it is: I try to visit a webpage and I'm being redirected
to the URL above, but the page remains blank for some seconds. Then I
get a "Server not found" page and I'm not able to do anything at all.

Now I'm running WinXP in a VirtualBox, which is connected via NAT. While
the host is connected to the WIFI net and is not able to visit any page,
I am able to connect in the VirtualBox.

Running Ubuntu in a VirtualBox brings the same as on the host, by the
way.

Does that look weird only to me?

If there's any information I can fetch for you, please let me know.
I'm running Ubuntu Mint Katya, but it's the same situation on an Ubuntu 10.10.
The computer is a Fujitsu Siemens Laptop Lifebook E8310.
