I have successfully built MLT 0.7.4-3 using pbuilder for ubuntu 11.10, and attached the pbuilder build log, and the dpkg install logs. I tested this new version with OpenShot 1.3.1 and OpenShot 1.4.0 (coming very soon) on Ubuntu 11.10, and everything works great.
I think I have included all the necessary files for a freeze exception. MLT 0.7.4-3 fixes many issues with OpenShot and Kdenlive, and needs to be synced before the release of Ubuntu 11.10. If I've forgotten any debug files / build logs / etc... please let me know.
