I can confirm the same issue with my laptop wich is a Acer Aspire 1360 , AMD Sempron 2800+ running Fiesty. No problems at all when it was running heavy applications in winXP and this is the first Linux installation on the laptop. Can't really say I have noticed any difference in the way the cpu fan is activated with increased load.
