I think this bug is linked to the Nautilus bug I have read on the
gnome.org:

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=336955

First, I would like to describe the way to reproduce (hopefully easy for you
guys)
1. Download one of .ogg files from this forum. Duplicate it to 30+ files. Any
file name will do.
2. Switch to list view.
3. Order file by type.
4. Close and reopen the folder.
5. Click at the first file. Voila!
6. Repeat step 5 as much as you want.

The result is due to the fact that Nautilus always reorder the item when
something changed. The selected file does not disappear, it just goes to
stay somewhere else. it I think this must be fixed but I don't know
where to start. I'll file the bug about this "reordering" feature
someday as it cause more problems than usability.
