I experience this bug on my machine that's setup as a dedicated MythTV box. It automatically turns on and shuts down when it's scheduled to record shows. So you can understand how annoying this bug is when the auto shutdown hangs and never completes meaning it never turns back on again to record the next show unless I notice the problem and manually intervene.
After doing the steps outlined in comment #41 my machine has been shutting down consistently with out a problem for several weeks now. I'm still running kernel 2.6.38-10-generic and being that this bug still isn't properly fixed I'm very reluctant to update to kernel 2.6.38-11-generic in case the issue returns. With only a month away from the next Ubuntu release it seems like this bug is just being ignored. Does anyone know if the issue is still present with the current development version of 11.10? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/762203 Title: Computer is not turned off at shutdown To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/762203/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
