Ok, the freezes were happening way too frequently (couple times a day) and would nearly always cause filesystem problems that needed to be fixed (due to having to do a hard-power off each time). I couldn't risk running 7.04 anymore went and installed 6.10 64bit version a couple days ago and have been beating it steadily, zero freezes. So at least that rules out the 64bit issue at least. Same hardware in both cases and same config files/services. 7.04 will freeze up hard, 6.10 does not.
