Public bug reported:

Since a couple of days, when I start evolution it slows down my laptop.
Evolution itself becomes un-responsive, and so are all the open
applications. By using both 'top' and 'ps' I noticed that evolution uses
up to 18% CPU and about 70% of memory. In addition, the hard-disk stars
working intensively. Killing evolution restores the laptop to its ususal
responsiveness.
