Public bug reported: Summary: wifi is not working anymore on my Acer Aspire 5930G. It's currently working with Ubuntu 10.10. I just tested the Oneiric 11.10 beta 1 live image and it stopped working. When you boot the system and you click on the wifi icon in the indicator panel you can see the wifi networks available. I choose mine and I'm prompted for a password but it try connecting forever without any success. No problem doing this with Ubuntu 10.10.
Note: I did not test this laptop with Ubuntu 11.04 but I can do it if you think it can be useful to fix this bug. My laptop has an Intel Wifi 5100 network card.
