*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 21829 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/21829
"Hope they get fixed soon as I find it quite discouraging" It has already been fixed long time ago. This issue occurred during _development_ of Feisty, when not all packages concerning the x-server have been updated. This is all common procedure during _development_. If you can't or don't want to deal with stuff like this, don't run development versions. "It gives one some cause for reservations in recommending novices use Linux" No it doesn't. Novices shouldn't be running development versions of _any_ operating systems. Feisty is now stable and officially released. If you install or upgrade to that version, the x-server will run fine. I'm marking this bug as fixed. Since it was a very temporary side-effect of upgrading the x-server. It seems people just forgot to mark it fixed. ** Changed in: Ubuntu Status: Needs Info => Fix Released -- [feisty] x server wont start after upgrade https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/88340 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
