Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

I edited /etc/apt/sources.list and changed
'deb http://archive.ubuntu......' to 'deb ftp://archive.ubuntu......'

now running 'gksu /usr/bin/software-properties' spits out this error.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ gksu /usr/bin/software-properties

I need to use ftp and not http because of my ISP that uses a proxy server that
over caches. so it the sources are updated, I sometimes can only get updates
via ftp.
