Public bug reported: I don't demand unreasonable amounts of eye-candy and fancy animations. But one of the things that consistently keeps Ubuntu from seeming like a professional alternative to Windows (or anything, really) is the *mess* of unfinished and contradictory design styles that has been slapped on across the desktop.
For instance, on the Unity launcher we have colorful, polished, tile- like buttons. Among the window controls (minimize, maximize etc.) we have big fat Fisher-Price-like round buttons. On the panel, we have all-monocrome, stencil-like pictogram buttons. In the dash filters area, we have high-tech, wireframish texted buttons. I don't care so much *which* aesthetic Canonical chooses - just pick one and *stick with it*! Please. ** Affects: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Opinion ** Changed in: unity (Ubuntu) Status: New => Opinion -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/841021 Title: Pick an aesthetic and stick with it To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/841021/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
