Public bug reported:

I don't demand unreasonable amounts of eye-candy and fancy animations.
But one of the things that consistently keeps Ubuntu from seeming like a
professional alternative to Windows (or anything, really) is the *mess*
of unfinished and contradictory design styles that has been slapped on
across the desktop.

For instance, on the Unity launcher we have colorful, polished, tile-
like buttons. Among the window controls (minimize, maximize etc.) we
have big fat Fisher-Price-like round buttons. On the panel, we have
all-monocrome, stencil-like pictogram buttons. In the dash filters area,
we have high-tech, wireframish texted buttons.

I don't care so much *which* aesthetic Canonical chooses - just pick one
and *stick with it*! Please.
