There hasn't been a Katakana middle dot in FreeFont for many years,
since years before this report was posted.

Either you are using a very old version of FreeFont or you are seeing a
glyph stolen by the font rendering engine from another font.

Get the latest here:
http://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/freefont/

Maintainers:
Please send these reports upstream.  It is not my business to search through 
all the bug reports of all the distros for FreeFont issue reports.

And please close this report as "solved".
