** Summary changed: - Power manager does not see batteries + [solved by upgrade] Power manager does not see batteries
** Description changed: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager After I installed Edgy Eft on my computer it seems that everything is configured like I got a desktop computer and not a laptop, the Energy manager does not allow me to configure a battery operated mode, and there seem to be no difference between the time I operate on battery or on AC power. I have an ASUS A6000 AMD64, I am running Generic 64bits kernel. -> on /proc/acpi/ac_adapter/AC0/ file 'state' is empty -> on /proc/acpi/battery/BAT0/ files 'alarm' 'info' and 'state' are empty It seems that the bug affects also acpi, because when I want to switch off my laptop, everything stops but the "running" LED stays on. I need to press the power button until complete switch off + + Edit 2007/04/03 : + After Feisty installation acpi problems where solved BUT "standard" upgrade has failed. + If someone reads this before trying to upgrade with the same or similar problem, try to upgrade with acpi disabeled as acpi was causing upgrade failure. -- [solved by upgrade] Power manager does not see batteries https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/76557 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
