** Summary changed: - Screen corruption after hibernate / suspend + Screen corruption after hibernate / suspend on ACER ASPIRE 5100
** Description changed: + **Workaround** + Add nomodeset at boot line + Screen corruption occurs after restarting from hibernation or suspend in Ubuntu 9.10. Don't know if it is hibernate or suspend. Problem occurs after I close the lid on my Acer Aspire 5100 laptop. Machine powers off. When I later restart the machine, the screen corruption occurs. The display is barely visible behind the multiple fast-moving vertical and horizontal lines and boxes. Problem occurs on both the 32-bit and 64-bit Ubuntu CD when booted from the CD, and once a fresh install of the 64-bit Ubuntu 9.10 was installed, the problem also occurs there. On Ubuntu 9.04, the machine did not shut off when I closed the lid, and hence there was no restart required. Simply open the lid and resume as if the lid had never been closed. Is there a workaround, such as disabling Ubuntu's action when the lid is closed? ** Tags added: lucid maverick natty workaround -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/467945 Title: Screen corruption after hibernate / suspend on ACER ASPIRE 5100 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/467945/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
