I have an ASUS P4B266 Mainboard (Intel 845D Chipset, ide disk and cdrom) and a
1.6GHZ Pentium. I get permanently the same error booting the 7.04 CD.
However kubuntu 6.061 works fine on the system.
Looking into casper.log: the system tries to open /dev/fd0, /dev/sr0 and
finally fails with message: "Unable to find a medium containing
a live file system". But somehow the system accesses /dev/hda (I have a noisy
disk). From the initramfs system I tried to access (mount) the cdrom: but I was
not successful.
I looks to me like the cdrom device driver of the initramfs does not work
properly (one of the modules).
