I'm a little confused by the different reports in this ticket.
Encrypted partitions are going to be very slow when handling p2p --
Vuze, Deluge, etc. are all bitten by this too. Encrypted partitions and
randomized heavy disk IO do not get along well with one another. The
recommended workaround would be to download to, and seed from, an
unencrypted staging partition, and then move it to the encrypted
partition after you've finished sharing it via BitTorrent.
However there are also a couple of people in this ticket who have
reported the same behavior on unencrypted partitions. Could you
elaborate on that, and on how to trigger this behavior on unencrypted
partitions?

When adding a torrent, Transmission becomes unresponsive. Trying to
