Public bug reported: After upgrade to 11.10 current from 11.04, no more sound in Gnome (although I had working sound on the same install in icewm/alsa before gnome install).
Going to sound settings correctly shows two devices (internal audio and HDMI output) but both input and output tabs are empty of sources, only dummy stereo in output. So, internal mic and speakers don't work and external headphones/mic don't work.
