Thanks for your bug report. Did you enable the effects from the menu
(i.e. you are using compiz) or do you use beryl? To enable the cube in
compiz you should ensure that the following settings in gconf-editor are
set:
/apps/compiz/general/screen0/options/hsize: 4
/apps/compiz/general/screen0/options/number_of_desktops: 1
