Broco, this issue is unreproducible in LibreOffice Writer. Does this
work for you? If using Lucid or Maverick feel free to perform via the
Terminal:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa && sudo apt-get update &&
sudo apt-get -y upgrade && sudo apt-get -y install libreoffice-writer
