This is a bug with what looks like fglrx and vizualizations. I marked it as confirmed since I have a similar setup to Emiliano, and was able to replicate this bug by enabling the fglrx drivers with the restricted drivers manager.
The problem appears to be with vizualization. If you disable the visualization the problem goes away. This is probably an important bug to document for ATI Mobility users that Totem visualizations are broken in the fglrx drivers. In fact, for ATI drivers totem should have visualizations disabled. Otherwise nothing seems to work. No error messages are generated unless you're running totem in an xterm.
